Sweet Sixteen 1950's Dress and Sweater This adorable sweater  fit a small.
It is cream color with the decorations you see above on the left side.
I had this sweater at 23 Southbound Flea Market, when I set up there.  That was a few years ago.
Sweet Sixteen Dress
The pink dress buttons down the front.  The original belt is missing, but another pink belt could take it's place.  Otherwise this dress was in good wearable shape.  Handmade with love for her daughter, the mother added a slip linning.  This slip had lace that fell just below the hem line at one time.  Too bad someone took the lace.   No one would ever know unless they peeked..............

The outfit was purchased at the One Stop Cancer Shop located on Main Street in Chillicothe, Ohio.
Funky Blue Coat
Funky Blue Coat and Matching Dress.  This was a size small and in mint condition.  Dress had original belt.  Metal zipper down the back.  The colors on this plaid were wild and sooooooo cool!

The right hat, short white gloves, and a low pair of heels and you are off for Saturday brunch with the girls and a little shopping afterwards.
I found this little coat at the One Stop Cancer Shop located in Chillicothe, Ohio on Main Street.  These little ladies do not know what really cool things they have.

You should give them a visit sometime.  They do not pay me to put this on my web site.  I just like their shop and since it is my website, I put who I like on here.  I leave out who I don't like.

Hows this for a nostalgic retro girl who loves and keep her outfits like new!

The vintage clothes I love are 20's flapper, 40's sexy dresses, 50's cute collar... halter or strapless dress, and 60's mod/or dress sets.

Its hard finding people who have this old stuff and didn't throw it out already.

How true! It is very difficult to find vintage clothing in good ready to wear condition! The fabric wasn't meant to last 40, 50, 60, or 80 years! Finding a 20's flapper dress in wearable condition is extremely hard, as is dresses from other decades.

But here in this area, most people were hit hard by the depression during the 1930's, so they saved everything...just in case! At least that is what my mother and grandmother told me over and over. You never know what you might need or when you might need it.

So this area of the country seems to abound with vintage clothes from the 40's and 50's. Although I have yet to stumble across a vintage flapper, circa 1920's dress. Seems ladies here were "proper" and dress in a more "lady like" style.

Hope this page brings you something you enjoy!
How cute is this vintage camisole with it's off white trim and pearl buttons.  I am sure this is a size 4.  This was found in a thrift shop here in Chillicothe.  Cute as a button!  It was the One Stop Cancer Shop located on Main Street in Chillicothe, Ohio.
This adorable little red sun dress has a metal zipper down the back and a halter top.
Circa 1950's, when girls wanted to be lovely, sweet, and innocent!

Add a pair of white gloves, and flats. You are good to go!

A girl in town knew I loved vintage clothes and she brought me this outfit, which belonged to her mother.

Bethany, shown here, loved this dress.
Vintage sun dress.

Beth Shanks is 5'8", 120 lbs, 34c and wears a size 4 or 5.
Isn't she just the cutest thing with bear feet!
This black and floral vintage dress is a bombshell!  It makes those curves sing, ladies.  Metal zipper down the back, no pockets, mint condition!

Very pretty woman!  You will love this adorable retro dress.

This kind of dress will make the boys say "Za, Za, Zo". Drive them crazy Beth.
I do look high and low for my vintage clothes.  The young girls just love them.  They must, because I see retro redo's at the local Penny's, Kohl's, Fashion Bug, and other department shops in town.  I love the fact that you can go retro with today's sizes.  Yesterdays girls were very tiny.

I keep most of my vintage clothing or give them away to friend's daughters in town.  I just can't pass up good vintage clothes, get to many, and must clear out the old to make way for the new.

I decorate my home with vintage clothing.  Some pieces are displayed on the walls with their accessories.  A few dress my mannequins as accent pieces in a living room or bed room.   A mannequin is the most fun to dress up.  Yes, I know, still a little girl at heart playing dress up.  Well, grown up gals, just want to have fun too!
