| You can't have a proper cocktail party without the Hors D'Oeuvres First the colorful, tasty foods on tiny, crunchy foundations, make the canape assortment. It takes ingenuity and an eye for color to make up a set of smart canapes. Add to the tray or platter, a few pickles, stuffed olives, bits of welll seasoned vegetables, some wrapped in bacon and grilled, some vegetables or fish tucked in a cornucopia of cheese, and you will have a plate of Hors d'Oeuvres that will make the Cocktail Hour truly enjoyable. | Roquefort Olives Hollidaysburg, Pa Recipe 20 to 24 large stuffed olives 1 jar Roquefort cheese spread 1 cup chopped walnuts 1/4 teaspoons salt Morning of party. Drain Olives. Dry well or paper towel. Turn cheese into bowl, roll olives in cheese, use knife to coat well. Drop olives into nuts, mixed with salt. Coat all sides well. Whip out shape into round balls. Chill until party time. Guacamole Spread Hollidaysburg, Pa Recipe 1 large ripe avocado 1 tsp Worcestershire 1 tsp. lime or lemon juice 1/2 tsp. salt 1/2 tsp. finely grated onion 1/2 tsp. garlic salt 1/8 tsp cayenne Morning of party. Cut avocado in 1/2, remove seed, pare. Sprinkle immediately with lime juice. Mash well. Add rest of ingredients. Mix well. Refrigerate covered. Party time. Arrange in small bowl, surrounded with Melba Toast, have butter spreaders ready. Serves 6 |

| Old Fashioned Cocktail Prepare and serve in Glass No. 5 1 lump cube sugar 1 or 2 dashes Cocktail Bitters 1 dash seltzer Muddle sugar until dissolved 1 jogger Rye, Bourbon or Scotch Whiskey Cube of ice Garnish with twist of lemon peel, 1 slice of orange, 1 maraschino cherry. Serve with highball spoon. |

| Coffee Cocktail Place 3 or 4 cubes of ice in mixing glass. Yolk of 1 egg 1 dash Coffee Drip Liqueur 1 jigger Port Wine 1 pony J. Bavet Brandy 1 barspoon sugar Shake rigorously, strain and serve in a 4 oz. cocktail glass. Dash of grated nutmeg over drink. |

| Singapore Sling Prepare and serve in 10 oz glass Fill 1/2 full shaved ice. Place sliced red and green cherries alternately around inside of blass. Add juice of 1/2 lime or 1/4 lemon 1 jigger Distilled Dry Gin Fill balance of glass with shaved ice. Add 1/2 jigger Cherry Liqueur Add dash of Benai Liqueur Garnich with slice of Torange, Cherry, and peel of cubumber Serve with straws. Do not stir, or shake. |

| Big Apple Cocktail Preparation of Apple--Slice off tip--leave stem on and cut small opening on side of top slice of apple to insert small straws--scrape inside of apple leaving 1/4 inch of edge--place apple into sherbet or wine glass. Decorate with spray of leaves and serve with straws--use following recipe: Place 3 or 4 cakes ice in bar glass Juice of 1/2 lemon 1 bar spoon sugar 1 jugger Slow Gin Shake well--strain and pour ingredients inside apple--place top slice apple over drink and serve. You may also serve the BIG APPLE COCKTAIL with a fruit cocktail inside over which you may pour the above cocktail in which case reduse proportion of ingredient. |

| Tom and Jerry Use a large bowl. Take the whites of 6 eggs and beat to a stiff froth. Add 2 bar spoons of powdered sugar for each egg. Beat the yalks separately. Stir will together and beat to a stiff batter. Add a pinch of bicarbonate of soda. Stir frequently so that eggs will not separate or settle. To serve, put one tablespoon of batter into Tom and Jerry mug. Add one pony of Queen of Jamaica Imported Rum and one pony J. Bavet Brandy. Fill up with boiling water or with hot milk if preferred. Grate nutmeg on top. Serve with spoon. Drops of vanilla extract, or a little all-spice, may be added to the batter to suit individual taste. |

| Rainbow Liqueur Tray A delightful surprise created for your dinner party. On a silver tray place a given number of liqueur glasses. Into each glass pour a different color cordial as green creme de menthe, yellow charnette, creme de cocoa, sloe gin, apricot brandy, triple secorano, benai and brandy. Each guest will select his or her favorite color. The above tray may also be carried out for birthday parties by serving the ordials to match the birthstone color. |

| Highballs............. can be made with any of the following Sloe Gin Bourbon Brandy Creme de Menthe Furit Liqueurs Gin Rum Rye Whiskey Scotch Whiskey (Over seas brands) All of the above highballs are made and served as follows: To 1 cube of ice, add 1 jigger of liqueur desired, fill up with carbonated water or gingerale. Serve with small barspoon in glass and a piece of lemon peel if desired. Use highball glass No. 2 |

| Melange Picard Punch For party's of 20 use large punch bowl. Pour 1 bottle Melange Picard into 1 gallon water. Add 1 quart Distilled Dry Gin--Juice of 3 lemon--1 can crushed pineapple. Stir will, place a 6-inch square piece of ice in bowl and decorate with sliced oranges and Maraschino Cherries. Serve in 3 or 4 oz. glasses. |
