Vintage Junk

Here you will find vintage items that were sold on line, where the item was found at the local fleamarket, goodwill, thrift shops, or yard sales!
Items are listed not in any certain order.

We wish we had thought of this page early on. We have found and sold a Lionel Train (purchased for 40.00 and sold at auction for 450.00), a vintage electric cigarette lighter for 75 cents and sold for 75.00, 4 Jadeite restaurant ware plates for 5.00 each and sold for 250.00 to a individual in Japan. We have had huge successes and dismal failures for buying and selling vintage items. It helps if you purchase what you like, then you won't be "stuck" with items you hate....but that, also make's it difficult to get rid of stuff. We, both, have houses full of funk and junk that no one like but us. Well, go figure, someone else's trash could just be your trash too!

Vintage Fabric Hunting Dog Setters Retrievers Pheasants

I think this is a cotton, but I am not a fabric expert.  So I will try to describe it to the best of my abilities.
I could almost call it linen as it is sort of woven like linen.
Fabric is 87" by 44"
This material will look great in a hunting, country, or mountain lodge.  It is classic and has that great 1950's 50's feel to it.
Get your hunting rifle and your hunting cap on.
The colors much more vivid, then the photograph shows.  The background is cream, not the dark look in the photo.  The dogs are vivid adn lighter in color too.
The material is mint, not faded anywhere.  It is gorgeous.
It will be shipped via U.S. mail as it will be the cheapest way. It weighs almost a pound.  You have the weight of the material, just add a pound for the box and .45 for delivery confirmation and you can calculate the charges.
I am charging an additional 2.00 above the winning bid and shipping to pay for the box.
I am listing other vintage materials today.
Good luck!

Pointers and English Setters chasing down Pheasant - Dogs and Birds

This item brought 15.38, my purchase cost was 1.00 at the local Goodwill shop.
Vintage Eyelet Spanish Dress
Vintage Spanish Dress
Vintage Spanish Mexican Style Dress by Mode O'Day Styled in California
Photo of Label included in listing.
I hope you can see the cotton fabric of the dress. It is beautiful, with little decorative lace (eyelet) like see through style.
Metal zipper down the back.  1950's 50's vintage dress.
Black satin lining.
No sizing label, but Beth tried it on. She stands 5'8" tall, weighs 120 with a 34C and it fit her like a glove.
Measurement underarm to waist 8" waist to bottom of dress 25"
138" around the bottom of the dress for that added twirl when dancing.
Black matching Belt is about 29" long, didn't include the buckle in lenght size.
From underarm to underarm across the back laying flat is 18 1/2"
I have looked the dress over and from what I can see, this is in great condition, but it has three layers of ruffles and I may have missed something. Heaven knows I tried, and that material alone is hard to see a hole that doesn't belong, but at this time I am going to say it is in great condition.
Now I have to say, this will need dry cleaning as it has a slight musty smell from being kept in someone's basement for a few decades, but it is not dirty, just musty.
There are no stains that I can find.  I am not sure if she ever washed it.
They say she was a looker who never wore the same dress twice in her day. I am beginning to believe it as I go through her clothes.
Nothing ever looks as if it had been washed.  The colors are vivid black with bright red ticking (is that what it is called?) around each layer of lace, sleeves, and neck.
Very hot looking spanish style Mexican Squaw Type Dress.
Rockabilly
This will be sent thru U.P.S. Exact shipping with an additonal 2.00 to pay for the box.

Item was sold for 32.33.  Original cost to me was free by a local thrift shop going out of business, as I had been one of their best customers.
See, it pays to be nice, friendly, and polite.  People remember you when you shop at a store on a regular basis.
Vintage Tide Boxes
Boxes of Vintage Detergent
Two - one pound three ounces - boxes of Tide.
One Giant Size Rinso - 2 lbs. 14 ozs
One Dreft New Germaseptic Box 2 lb box
All boxes are unopened, good condition.  Have some wear, but nothing that is bad.  There are no holes in the boxes, no rips, a little water wear on the back of one tide box, but that isn't even worth mentioning as it isn't that bad.  The corner of the dreft and rinso are crumpled a little but not much.  See the pictures.
They really are in good condition.
Great Graphic Pictures on the boxes.  They show old wringer washers and hanging clothes on the line.
Great 50's 1950's graphics!
If you own a retro store and need laundry detergent boxes for display, then here are 4 at once.
Email if you need to know something.
Shipping is ups and an additional 2.00 is being charged above the winning bid.

Sold for 85.03  Purchased by me at the local flea market in Piketon, Ohio for 2.00 per box.  You know I left at least, another 10 boxes, on the table, because I never thought anyone would be interested!  You just never know what you will find!  I will know the next time.
